Last night, the closing night of the weekend that marks the unofficial end of summer, it got down to around 40 degrees at our house. It's like waking up in a cold tent except I'm in my cal king bed. I hope we have a few more weeks of summer and a nice long fall... because I have a feeling we'll have plenty of winter. Cozy, sure... thank goodness we have a fireplace and a sewing machine.
I love three-day weekends. Monday morning it was nice and cool in Denver so we drove down there and I went for a six-mile stroll with Luna as training for the SOON upcoming Challenge Walk. My goal was to check for chaffing spots - I found none. My toenails were a little sore (because they're used to flip-flops) but that's it. More miles next weekend, hopefully 10+. The fundraising deadline is tomorrow but I'm almost there and I haven't asked my mom or grandparents to contribute yet.
I have ONE pair of pants that still button... but the button presses uncomfortably into my gut. So I wear the other pairs unbuttoned with a stretchy belly band over them to hide the situation and hold them up. I haven't worn any special elastic gear yet... but I think within a few weeks I'll make the switch to a primarily elastic wardrobe.
This evening I randomly came across this pic of Olive on the counter at our rental house in Denver. She's in mid meow - not growling. You're lucky - an Olive sighting is rare beyond Jesse and I.
